We left our other hotel to stay here. Clean, comfortable rooms. Love the beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. Everyone was friendly, helpful and kind. The restaurant has great food and Fremont Public House has friendly people serving good drinks. Don’t stay anywhere else. In the downtown district so several shops / businesses within walking distance. We will stay here again when back in the area.
Don’t waste your time staying anywhere else this is the place to stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel St. Cloud in Cañon City. The hotel beautifully balances historic charm with modern comfort. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with everything a traveler needs after a busy day—comfortable bedding, stylish decor, and all the little conveniences that make a big difference.
The on-site dining options were a highlight of our visit. Dinner at 1887 was outstanding—delicious food, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We started our evening with craft cocktails at the Public House, which were expertly made and set the tone for a great night. Later, we relaxed in The War Room, a cozy and atmospheric space that was the perfect way to wind down.
From the hospitality to the ambiance, Hotel St. Cloud exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Royal Gorge region!

What an absolute beautiful hotel! Our room was so comfortable. The beds and pillows were heaven. The marble shower is gorgeous.
We drove in from Oklahoma and were starving. After checking in we decided to eat at the historic restaurant. We both had the prime rib sandwich and fries. It was so good so we decided to have dinner and being tired from our drive we opted for room service. We had the Lobster mac and cheese and prime rib with asparagus. Again perfectly made.
The staff is amazing and very helpful! This was truly a great experience and would highly recommend.

If you're reading this review... STOP AND JUST BOOK IT. Where would I begin to describe how much we loved this place? I guess it starts with Katherine at the front desk. The elevator wasn't working so we went up to the room and all of a sudden tiny Katherine arrives with both giant suitcases. Later she shows us to the speakeasy and comes back to personally bring us to dinner. So I guess it's the food's time to shine... WOW! Just WOW! Had 4 meals here and each one was just soo good! I dare anyone to try to finish the lobster mac and cheese. OH and it was my birthday so our amazing waitress Brenna had the whole staff sign a card for me! Shout out to the chefs and the woman in the speakeasy for many tasty drinks. Basically, this place feels like it should be in LA, NYC or Miami. Rooms are stunning! Great beds, bathrooms are amazing. And since it newly redone it feels like it you're the first ones in the room! Again... BOOK IT!

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel St. Cloud in Cañon City, Colorado, and it was an incredible experience. Originally established in 1883, the hotel has been recently reopened - wow, they’ve done a phenomenal job. The renovation strikes a perfect balance between preserving the historic charm and introducing elegant, modern touches.
The design is stunning—every corner feels thoughtfully curated with unique pieces of art and historic photographs that celebrate the local heritage of Cañon City. It’s like staying in a living museum, but with all the comforts of a luxury boutique hotel.
The staff were absolutely wonderful—warm, hospitable, and genuinely attentive. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well cared for. And can we talk about the towels? So soft and cozy—seriously, wow!
Hotel St. Cloud is a true gem. If you’re visiting Cañon City, do yourself a favor and stay here. You’ll be surrounded by beauty, history, and the kind of service that makes you want to come back again and again.

This place has a fantastic ambience, design, and incredible customer service. The manager on call, Lorin, took care of a special request that a friend of mine and I had at the last minute. The staff went out of the way to make sure we were taken care of and had our needs met, even though they didn’t have to. Highly recommend!
